when the original planning permission was granted for the site it original use was planned as a coffee shop. However over the 4 years it took to take the site from an idea to an open business it became clear that the it shoulr be a bar. However, the initial planning consent requires the seats to be locked out of use by 7:30 pm . You can stand and drink but not put your glass on the table and obviously you cant eat.
We are currently in the process of regularising the usage of the wharf to make it more in keeping with general usage of out side spaces in the area and restrictions imposed on other bars in the area.
We believe that the planning restriction of closing at 7:30 pm is not logical. The wharf is a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat and spend time with friends and family. The wharf is an open outdoor amenities in a built up area and is a pleasant place to be.
